An album I’ve turned to time and time again this summer has been Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s self titled debut. Released on Fat Possum, the record truly hails from beyond, as its collage of myriad influences and sounds culminates in a purely transcendent experience. The band has two upcoming tour dates this month: at Webster Hall on the 14th and Glasslands on the 15th. Maybe I’ll see you at one of ‘em.
